Stephan Assevov was born in Bulgaria in 1953 and still works and lives in the town of Veliko Tarnova where he was born. His education led him to the Faculty of Fine Art, where he studied painting and graduated in 1978. Since that time he has participated in a number of general exhibitions within his country and has also been presented in Poland, England, Italy, France and Switzerland.

In 1978 he was presented with a silver award in a landscape painting competition in Veliko Tarnovo. His unusual painted scenes of local life and scenery are highly sought after and are now in the possession of the Bulgarian National Gallery of Arts and also in private collections in Bulgaria, USA, Canada, Denmark, Spain, France and the UK.
