Tim Nash

Tim at a recent gallery demo

Tim was born in Birmingham in 1962 and after leaving full time education decided to pursue a career in industry where for ten years he was involved in creating three dimensional prototypes.

Meanwhile, with a passionate interest in art, he pursued his hobby of painting with watercolour. He has had his work accepted by a number of prestigious galleries, notably the Mall Galleries and the RBSA Galleries.

Predominantly a landscape artist, he decided in 1988 to paint full time and has devoted himself to studying and capturing the atmosphere of the surrounding British countryside. Since this time his technical abilities have developed along with his own particular style. He seeks to capture the tonal contrasts and textures of the landscapes and villages of his subject matter.

During the last 18 months Tim has been developing a parallel interest in textured mixed media work which enables him to take his tonal contrasts to the next level. The use of watercolour together with acrylic inks also offers him the opportunity to produce landscapes with vibrant colours.

Tim now passes his knowledge and skills on to other artists, teaching at a Birmingham College and working as a visiting lecturer to many of the art societies in the Midlands. He is a member of the Dudley Society of Artists, the Birmingham Watercolour Society, the Swinford Painters and was selected to join the ‘Easel Club’ which was founded in 1879.
