Sallie Wakley

International events include the Festival Interceltique, Brittany and Dyfed/Vejle Exhibition in Vejle, Denmark in 1991. Sallie has also participated in exhibitions by the Society of Designer Craftsmen and of Welsh Contemporary Art. Her work has been included in a Christies Wild Life Art sale in London.

Sallie’s sculptures are all unique hand crafted pieces which draw on her own pets and local wildlife for inspiration as well as photographic references for more exotic animals. Her skill and observation are remarkable and her work has grown in popularity as she is exhibited more widely. Gallery showings have included the Fountain Fine Art Gallery, Llandeilo, The Leigh Gallery, Bloomsbury, Heath Park Gallery, Cardiff and Wold Galleries, Moreton-in-Marsh.

In Autumn of 2001 Sallie was filmed working in her studio in Carmarthenshire for a television magazine programme featuring contemporary artists working in Wales. The programme, ‘River Patrol’, was later broadcast on HTV.
