Wold Galleries first opened as the Halford House Galleries in the 1960's and while they have experienced several changes of name in the following years the wish to nurture up and coming artists and to show the finest contemporary work available within an affordable price range has remained the first principle throughout this period.

The Galleries formed a significant part of a Grade II listed 19th Century building set in the heart of one of the Cotswolds most popular villages, Bourton-on-the-Water, graced by the slowly flowing Windrush river with its characteristic bridges. The area has great charm and attraction for its many summer and winter visitors.

In 2005 the galleries re-located to an 18th Century building in Oxford Street, Moreton-in-Marsh. Moreton is a busy market town north of Bourton & Stow-on-the-Wold at the junction of the Fosse Way and the A44 Oxford-Worcester Road

In addition to the Spring and Autumn mixed exhibitions, the Galleries also hold a number of more specialised events and one man shows throughout the year.

The Galleries regularly feature the work of approximately 30 - 40 British & International artists, some of whom are local to the area and whose talents spread across the mediums of oil, watercolour, pastel, acrylic, glass, ceramic and bronze.

Devon Art Fair 1st - 3rd October 2010

Wold Galleries Stand B3

The inaugural Devon Art Fair will open its doors this October in the beautiful English Riviera resort of Torquay.

Galleries from around the UK and Europe will descend on the Riviera International Conference Centre, bringing with them an eclectic mix of fine, modern and contemporary artworks for visitors to the fair to admire and purchase.

Literally hundreds of artists will be represented at the fair with many instantly recognisable names sharing wall space with professional artists, recent graduates and self taught individuals.

Prices of art for sale will range from £75 to tens of thousands of pounds and with painting, drawing, sculpture, glass and ceramics all on display we are extremely confident that this event will appeal to the most avid and discerning collector as much as the novice first time buyer and will ultimately be a spectacular showcase for everyone to enjoy.

We look forward to seeing this fair grow into an annual event that everyone looks forward to and enjoys, and hope to see you there.
